Jr. Wolf Pack Midget Team Begins to Take Shape

The Hartford Jr Wolfpack U-16 team would like to welcome the following inaugural members of their team...
Sam Peluso G
60 190lbs. Catches: Left DOB: 9/26/93
Sam split time last year between the Clippers 93 team and Kingswood Oxford High School. Played in 26 games with the Clippers posting a .895 save percentage on 441 shots. Qualified for Regional championship during the 2007-2008 season. Pitched a shutout during the NEEHL championship game. Part of the Atlantic All-Stars summer select season during the last three years.
Shayne O'Brien G
57 135lbs. Catches: Left DOB: 1/13/93
Obrien played last season for the Connecticut Clippers Bantam Major team last year. Played in 25 games last year with a .889 Save Percentage on 346 shots. Member of Team Connecticut during 2005, 2007, and 2008, and a member of Team New England in 2008. Recognized by the USHL Central Scouting Bureau as a 1993 birth year prospect.
Connor Bouthot C
55 130lbs. Shts: Left DOB: 2/1/93
Connor comes to the Wolfpack from the Connecticut Clippers Bantam Major team. Tallied 11 points in 19 appearances with the Clippers. Also played for the Kingswood Oxford JV team, and was the teams leading scorer. Recently attended the NAPS tournament in Rochester, NY, Toronto Prospects tournament, and the Junior Chowder Cup. Recognized by the USHL Central Scouting Bureau as a 93 prospect.
Jason Plush F
5'10" 167lbs. Shts: Right DOB: 8/5/93
Jason is attending Choate Rosemary Hall this year; he attended the
Renbrook School in West Hartford last year where he won the academic
award and the citizenship award; he was MVP and leading scorer in ice
hockey and lacrosse and he also won most outstanding offensive
contribution for soccer.
Plush played center for the CT Clippers AAA Bantam Major team last year
and was one of the team's leading scorers and penalty killers.
Devon Flis F
511 155lbs. Shts: Right DOB: 6/4/93
A strong, physical defenseman. Played split season between the Connecticut Clippers Bantam Majors and Xavier High School, but skated in a limited number of games due to injury troubles. Prior to last season, Fliss was part of the 93 Wolves team which has enjoyed several championships, including a trip to the national tournament.
Janice Yang
Played for CT Polar Bears and Choate Rosemary Hall last year. Her Polar Bear team has won the State and Regional Championships for five years in a row, including this past year. This past season at the National Championships, her team placed 2nd. As a member of the Choate Girls Varsity Ice Hockey team, helped the team to a Founder's League Championship. Janice has been a member of Team Connecticut in 05', 06', 07', 08'. Over the summer she attended the New England Development Camp where she was selected for the All-Camp team. She also attended the National Development camp in Rochester, NY and there she was selected for the All-Star team. Has attended the National Development Camp in summer of 06', 07', and 08'. Academically, at Choate Rosemary Hall, she was recognized on the Dean's list.
Vaughn Guetens D
6' 170lbs. Shts: Right DOB: 9/11/92
Last season Vaughn played for the CT Wolves ½ yr midget team before going on to play for the Cheshire High School varsity program. He is also a member of the Cheshire Boys Varsity Tennis team. This past spring he was selected to the 2008 CT Select 16 team and attended the New England Development Camp at the University of Vermont. Vaughn is also an avid piano player.
Alex Masse D
5'7" 140lbs. Shts: Right DOB: 5/6/93
Alex joined the team winter 2008 from the East Catholic High School Eagles where he skated aggressively on defense. Alex left the ECHO A team to join the Eagles and has been skating for many years having been to many local and regional hockey camps including the University of Connecticut. Before concentrating on defense, Alex successfully played offense, center. He has been on the honor roll at East Catholic and in junior high; he is an experienced rock climber and enjoys golf.
Derek Queno F
58 150lbs. Shts: Left DOB: 4/1/93
Played last season for the Connecticut Clippers Bantam Major team. Was the leading scorer tallying 28 points (14 goals, 14 assists) in 21 games. Recognized by the USHL Central Scouting Bureau as a top prospect for the 1993 Birth year. Away from the rink, Queno enjoys Baseball and Lacrosse.
Ken Mackiewicz F
60 175lbs. Shts: Right DOB: 1/23/93
Ken joins the Wolf Pack as a returning player from the 2007-2008 Connecticut Clippers Bantam Major team.
In Atlantic Youth League play he tallied twenty points in twenty six games with the Clippers.
He attends the Xavier College Preparatory School in Middletown CT maintaining academic honors status through his freshman year and was recognized making the "Principals List".
He attended summer sessions at the University of Hartford "Summer Place" leadership program and completed a youth counselor certification. As an accomplished swimmer he also obtained his Lifeguard certification at the camp.
Ken was listed by the USHL 2008 93 birth year draft as a future prospect and played in the 2008 USHL Showcase in Chicago tallying seven points.
He also played in spring/summer tournaments (Prospects, Chowder Cup, North American Prospects and Midget Hub Cup) with the Atlantic Allstars Bantam Major and Boston Jr. Bruins Midget Major teams and was a player on the Bridgewater Bandits Jr. A team at the 2008 Eastern Junior Hockey Summer Showcase.
The student athlete was also a member of the 2007 Xavier Fall Crew Team and the Rifle Team and played for the Connecticut Lighting team in the Jaycee-Banknorth 2008 travel summer baseball leauge.
Trevor Buchas F
59 140lbs. Shts: Left DOB: 8/29/93
Trevor comes to the team after a split season between the Connecticut Wolves Midget team and the Clippers 93 team. Scored 4 goals and 5 assists through 13 games with the Clippers. Member of the State Champion Wolves Bantam Major team during 2007, and Bantam Minor Regional Champion Wolves during 2006. Also a member of the Wolves Quebec International Pee-Wee Championship team. Away from the rink, Buchas has received the Citizenship award, and has made the honor roll at his High School.
Mike Darosa F
58 160lbs. Shts: Left DOB: 10/27/93
Darosa returns to the team after a successful 07-08 season with the 93 Clippers posting 5 goals, 5 assists and 10 points in 25 Atlantic League Sanctioned games. Noted by the USHL Central Scouting Bureau as a 93 birth year prospect. Participated in the USHL 93 Prospect camp in Chicago, Illinois, Toronto Prospects tournament in Toronto, Ontario, and in the Chowder Cup in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Academically, Darosa was an honor student at Daniel Hand High School during 2007-2008.
Matt Jarvis D
5'10" 145lbs. DOB: 02/20/93
Matt comes from the Connecticut Clipper Bantam Major team playing a full season. He has been at the Clipper organization since a Peewee Minor and was elected captain for his Bantam Minor and Major years on the team. Matt played with the Atlantic Stars for 2 years as well. Away from the rink, Matt has made High Honors at Avon High School, Avon CT. for all four quarters of his freshman year and is taking all honors courses as a sophomore. He plays lacrosse at his school and was the freshman class' leading scorer with the third most assists. There he attained the Scholar Athlete award.
Scott Casley F
510 145lbs. Shts: Left DOB: 01/18/93
Scott comes to the team from the Clippers 2008 Bantam Major team where he played a split season as a forward and defensemen. He scored 5 goals and 5 assists through the 2008 split season and as a full season forward on the Clippers 2007 Bantam Minor team 15 points in the AYHL and 30 points overall in total games played. Scott was an assistant team captain on the 2007 Clippers and was voted captain of the 2008 Clipper team. Recognized by the USHL Central Scouting Bureau as a '93 birth year prospect. Participated in the USHL '93 Prospect camp in Chicago, Illinois, Toronto Prospects tournament in Toronto, Ontario, and in the Chowder Cup in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
