Jr. Wolf Pack U-16's Win Pair at Home

The U-16's were a perfect 2 - 0 this weekend with a non-league win over the LI Edge on Saturday and an important AYHL victory over the NJ Titans on Sunday. Hartford's record now stands at 23 - 5 - 1 overall on the season and 17-4-1 in the AYHL.

With a bit of player shuffling during the last week, the Pack looked to maintain their team chemistry and hosting the Long Island Edge on Saturday night proved to be just what they needed. The home team road a 54 - 12 shot advantage on their way to a 9 - 2 victory. "We lost some key players to their HS teams but we attained two players from our Jr. B team so we are still in great shape. We have been working hard all season and we seem to be getting better each day," said Yvonne Corrieavu

With little time to rest, the Pack were back at Champions Skating Center on Sunday morning to take on the NJ Titans. The short night didn't seem to have any adverse effect as they came out flying taking a 2 - 0 lead in the first period. The Pack extended the lead to 3 - 0 in the second period before the Titans came battling back with a power play goal late in the second period and another one early in the third. The Wolf Pack then came back to life and scored three unanswered goals to finish off a 6 - 2 victory. "Our midget team has really put themselves on the map, they work hard and have a lot of good young players that will be moving on to play for our Junior teams. I liked what I saw at the game against the Titans and I look forward to watching their progress throughout the rest of the season," said GM Chris Cerrella

Next weekend the U-16's have a well deserved day off on Saturday and host the NY Saints who sit atop the AYHL standings @ 10:40am at Champions.
