Perfect 4 - 0 Weekend propels U-16's into 2nd Place in the AYHL

The Hartford Jr. Wolf Pack U-16 team completed a perfect 4 - 0 weekend at the AYHL Thanksgiving U-16 Showcase which was held at Champions Skating Center and ISCC in Simsbury. With a record of 16 - 4 - 1, the Pack now sits in 2nd place in the AYHL U-16 American Division standings with 33 points. They are 6 points behind the 1st place NY Saints with 6 games at hand.
The Pack's weekend began on Friday with a 5 - 2 victory over the NJ Colonials. Trailing 1 - 0 after 2 periods, the boys in blue came back with a fury in the 3rd period on their way to a 5 - 2 victory. Saturday brought hard fought victories over the NJ Titans 7 - 4 and the Washington Little Capitals 7 - 3 with the Pack out shooting their opponents in each of the games.
On Sunday the home team met up with a disciplined Hershey Jr. Bears team who came in with only 3 losses on the AYHL season and not having allowed more than 3 goals in any one game. This was a concern as the Pack trailed 3 - 1 after 2 periods having allowed 2 power play goals and the Hershey goaltender standing on his head at times proving why they have allowed the fewest goals against in the league. The Jr. Wolf Pack regrouped during the 2nd intermission and came out flying. They scored their 2nd goal with 9 minutes left and tied the game with 3:59 left. With the momentum completely in their favor, the Pack took the lead on a power play goal a minute later and finished the scoring with 1:47 left in the game closing out a 5 - 3 victory. "Overall it was a great weekend, we work very hard and we battle. It is good to see everyone is playing at the top of their game right now we have a strong team," said Coach Corriveau.
The U-16's are home next weekend with a non league game vs the LI Edge on Saturday night @ 5:50pm and battle the NJ Titans in a critical AYHL game on Sunday morning @ 10:50am both at Champions.
