U-16's split a pair of games with in-state rival Northern CT Wings

On Saturday night at Champions the Jr. Wolf Pack Midget team once again out shot their opponent 43 - 23. But, this time they ran into spectacular goaltending against the CT Wings.

The Wings were able to hand the Jr. Pack a 5-2 loss even though they were heavily out shot in the game. After the fist period the teams were at a 1-1 tie until The Wings broke the game open in the second period outscoring the Wolf Pack 4 - 1. The third period was scoreless with the Pack carrying the play and out shooting the Wings 18 - 3, but they were unable to put pucks in the back of the net.

On Sunday afternoon, the two smet again and the Wolf Pack had revenge on their mind. The boys came out working hard from the opening face off and played a noticeably more physical brand of hockey. The Pack scored early to take a 1 - 0 lead and never looked back in route to a 6 - 0 victory. Coach Corriveau was very please with the effort today with all lines contributing to the scoring.

"I like the way we responded, we took a shot on the chin on Saturday and we were able to come back the next day and take it to the same team. It showed a lot of character and character goes a long way in this game," said Coach Corriveau.

Next week the Jr. Wolf Pack are on the road Saturday at Long Island for an independent game against the LI Rebels and then travel to visit the Mercer Chiefs in an AYHL tilt on Sunday.
