Jr. Wolf Pack U-16's go 3 - 0 for the week!

The Midgets who entered this weeks play undermanned due to SAT's, injuries and suspensions delivered an impressive victory over the CT Wolves 8 - 0 in an independent game and came away with two hard fought 4 - 3 AYHL victories over the Philadelphia Little Flyers and NJ Rockets.
The Pack began the week's game schedule on Wednesday night by visiting the CT Wolves at Northford Ice Pavilion. They came out strong scoring three first period goals on their way to an 8 - 2 victory. All aspects of the game clicked with strong goaltending, solid defense and a relentless attack.
Saturday brought a trip to Philadelphia to take on the Little Flyers. This would be the third game in two weeks between these two teams with the Pack winning one and tying one last weekend in Cromwell. Saturday brought more of the same tight play. After the Wolf Pack took a 2 - 0 lead in the first period, the Flyers clawed back to make it close with the Pack's defense holding strong in a mad scramble with the Flyers goalie pulled in the last minute to preserve the 4 - 3 victory.
On Sunday the Wolf Pack finished up their road trip with a visit to the NJ Rockets. Once again the Pack came out flying, taking a 3 - 0 first period lead and out shot their opponents 37 - 9 in the first two periods. However, they were unable to solve the Rockets goalie in the second period taking only a 3 - 1 lead into the third. The long road trip and missing several players began to take it's toll on the Wolf Pack who looked weary in the third period seeming out of sync and taking tired penalties. But, with 90 seconds left in the game and short handed 6 skaters to 3 with the Rocket's goalie pulled, the Pack dug deep and preserved a hard fought 4 - 3 victory.
The Jr. Wolf Pack are now 6 -1 -1 in Atlantic League play with an overall record of 10 - 2 - 1. Next weekend they host the NJ Devils Saturday @ 5:50pm and Sunday morning @ 9:40am at Champions Skating Center.
