About the Hartford Junior Wolf Pack
Junior A / Junior B / Midget U-16
Entering its 6th year of operation, the Hartford Junior Wolf Pack Hockey Club represents a measure of hard work and dedication affording young athletes the opportunity to play hockey at the collegiate and professional level. As an original member of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League, the program was developed under owner Bob Crawford, who has had considerable success in the junior hockey world.
Crawford, a veteran of 7 NHL seasons, founded the Connecticut Clippers youth hockey program in 1996, fielding teams from Mites to Junior. Playing in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League, the Junior B Clippers herald 1st place at the 2000-2001 Junior B National Championship and 3rd place at the 1999-2000 tournament.

During the summer of 2002, Crawford, among others proposed a pilot to create an elite league in the northeast that would provide a highly competitive atmosphere for the development of aspiring hockey players right in their backyard. This plan took place in 2003 as the AJHL carried out its first season, placing several into the college ranks, and also seeing its first NHL Draft Pick (Christian Jensen). The Hartford Jr. Wolf Pack, as well as the rest of the AJHL have continued to produce quality talent for NCAA institutions around the country.
In an effort to increase competitiveness in the greater Connecticut area, Crawford and the Hartford Junior Wolf Pack reached an affiliation agreement with the Connecticut Jr. Wolves based out of North Haven, CT. Wolves owners Dan McCarthy, another ex-NHL'er, Todd Berton, and Crawford orchestrated a feeder program that would unify the Jr. B Wolves and the Jr. B Clippers as a talent feeder to the Jr. A Wolf Pack.
During the 2008-2009 season, the organization will consolidate to one Junior B team, and field a Midget U-16 team, all of which will don the Hartford Junior Wolf Pack title. The Wolfpack have also announced affiliations with the Troy Eagles Jr. B team, and the Tampa Bay Bolts Jr. B team.
At the Junior Wolf Pack, our goal is to provide High School & College Athletes the opportunity to further their education while participating in one of the top junior leagues in the United States. Competition within the Atlantic Junior Hockey League is fast-paced, and provides players the opportunity to advance their skills in preparation for the next level.
The Wolf Pack/Clippers/Wolves organization has placed over 200 of their graduates onto NCAA and ACHA Division 1, 2 and 3 competition. In 2006, the organization saw its first Alumni drafted into the NHL! As the league, and the club continues to grow ever stronger, it is our endeavor to continue providing the opportunity given to our players for the past 5 years.
