Jr. B Stuffed at Home

The Hartford Jr. B Wolf Pack did not come through this past weekend against the visiting Jr. Royals.

Up 7-3 in Saturday's game the Jr. B Pack lost the game 9-8 in a shoot out as the team struggled to make saves and struggled to stay out of the box. The team is one of the most penalized teams in the MJHL with 310 penalty minutes in just 16 games which means the team spends an average of 20 minutes a game on the penalty kill.

On Sunday, both teams battled and the game remained tied until rookie Sean Stoneman received his third penalty of the night and the Jr. Royals capitalized on the PP to go up 2-1 and than soon to follow 3-1. Sam Peluso continued his good goaltending for the Jr. B Wolf Pack as he battled to keep it close.

The penalties have become a problem for the team and it is an issue that needs to be addressed in the locker room and on the ice.

"You can not win games this way. We have too many kids that are taking STUPID, selfish penalties and they are hurting their own team. 20 minutes a game in penalties is what we average and this is unacceptable. We will deal with it as a staff but it has to get better we are a good team and we are shooting ourselves in the foot every game. It has to stop and it will stop or it will be a tough season," said Chris Cerrella.
