Strakosch Commits to SUNY Buffalo State

The Hartford Jr. Wolf Pack staff is proud to announce their second player attending Buffalo State in 2010-11. Team captain Billy Strakosch will be suiting up for the Bengals in the power house SUNYAC Div 3 hockey conference. The Middlebury, CT native has 9g and 21a for the Jr. Pack this season and has been a big part of the Jr. Wolfpack success over the past two seasons.
"I am very happy to be able to join Coach Carriere and his program at Buffalo State University this fall, hopefully I will be able to make an impact for them right away. I want to thank Coach Cerrella for making me the complete player that I needed to be in order to compete at the college hockey level. I has been a great ride and I look forward to continuing my career at Buffalo State," said Billy Strakosch.
The 6'1 180 lbs veteran forward is in his second full season of junior hockey with the Jr. Wolf Pack, "Billy is one of those players I will never forget. He has been great, I have really enjoyed coaching him and watch him develop into a tremendous student athlete. He is going to have 4 big years in the tough SUNYAC, his best hockey is still ahead of him. I want to wish Billy and his family the best of luck as they continue down the path and take on this new adventure." said Chris Cerrella.
Billy becomes the fourth player this season to get the opportunity to move onto the college level playing for the Jr. Wolfpack. Both the organization and the Atlantic Junior Hockey League can expect several more commitments coming out of Ct in the next 2 weeks.
"Players come here for this result, college placement. We are the only team in the Ct and Western Ma Area that pumps players into college every year and we are proud of that. Billy is another player that has come in here and made an impact and he is someone tat we will remember for a long time. We wish him luck" said President Dan McCarthy.
