Jr. A's Have Successful Weekend
2010-02-16
The Jr. Wolf Pack went into this weekend with one thing on their mind, securing a playoff birth and after securing 4 out of a possible 6 points the team did just that. On Saturday the team faced the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers a team that has been a hot hand in he south the last 8 games but the Jr. Wolf Pack went on the hunt and was able to defeat the Jr. Flyers 2-1.
Forwards Seric Kapp and Eric Bajc scored for the Pack and goaltender Andrew Begg played solid in net for the win.
After defeating the Jr. Flyers the team prepared for its Sunday game against the gritty NJ Rockets who are currently in second place in the South Division. The game was fast paced an a lot of hard hitting and went back and fourth all game and was tied at the end of regulation 1-1. With one minute remaining in OT the NJ Rockets scored the game winning goal to beat the Jr. Wolf Pack 2-1.
"I feel this was one of the best games of the weekend. There were a ton of colleges watching and both teams played hard and both teams played well. The goalies at both ends were outstanding it was a playoff game for sure it was fun to watch and fun to coach," said Chris Cerrella.
The only negative on the weekend is that the Jr, Wolf Pack lost two games in OT one to the Rockets and one to the Jr. Senators as they seem to struggle to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
With just 4 games remaining before playoffs anything can happen once the regular season comes to an end.
