Junior A Sweep Weekend
2010-01-18
The Jr. A Wolf Pack continues to play good hockey as they followed up with a second solid weekend with a 8-1 and 6-1 sweep of the Laconia Leafs.
The Jr. Wolf Pack out scored the Leafs 14-2 and out shot them 148-52 on the weekend as the Wolf Pack have seemed to steady their ship.
"I am proud of our last two weekends, we made some solid moves to improve our team down the stretch and it has really seemed to help. We added a few more veteran players and as you see in our North Division the most successful teams have a large group of older veteran players. We have a big, big weekend coming up and this will be a great indication to where we are," said Chris Cerrella.
Forward Petr Soustal led the charge up front with a 4 pt weekend and converted defenseman John Corrigan continued his solid play with 2 pts on the weekend. Goalies Bryan Haude and Andrew Begg both had solid outings as well.
The Jr. Wolf Pack was without defenseman Mke Novella for the weekend as he had a successful few days with the Tri City Storm in the UHL.
"Mike went out there to see what was like and he really seemed to do a good job. He had a few practices out there and impressed the coaching staff for the future. Mike is going to do a great job down the stretch for us as we look to go deep into the playoffs and hopefully he will get a great opportunity to play in Tri City next season." said Chris Cerrella.
The Jr. Wolf Pack will take on the Northern Cyclones this weekend in Hudson, NH.
