Jr. A Pack To Visit College Hockey Games
2009-11-06
Over this past week the Jr. Wolf Pack have really been able to see what college hockey is all about.
On Tuesday, the team traveled 40 miles North on I-91 to Springfield to watch Division 3 Western New Englad College battle at home against Stone Hill.
Tonight the team gets to visit on a little bit bigger stage as the team will travel 25 miles South on I-91 to wath the Division 1 Quinnipiac Bobcats face off against Clarkson University in ECAC action.
One good thing for the team is that Coach Cerrella is a alumni of Quinnipiac and they will be able to see wha it really takes to play Division 1 hockey first hand. The college visits and games visits are a great way to help these young inspiring athletes get a grip on college life on and off the ice.
"We do this every season it is good for our players to see what Div 3 and Div 1 hockey is all about. How it is fast paced and how at that level the players seem to all the little things and that is why they are there. It is also great for the players we are recruiting to see that we do more than just play hockey here and to see how many great universities there are right in our area. We are surrounded but great schools like Quinnipiac, Yale, Sacred Heart, Holy Cross, AIC, Conneticut College, Trinity, Wesleyan and more. These schools are right in our back yard and if we perform they will be coming to watch our games. It is a great tool for everyone and we are happy to have this opportunity," said Chris Cerrella.
The Jr. Wolf Pack hit the road this weekend as they will travel North to Saco, Maine to take on division rivals the Portland Jr. Pirates.
