Junior A's Split Weekend

This past weekend the Jr. Wolf Pack took on Northern Division rivals the Boston Jr. Bulldogs. Saturday night was a back and fourth game through the first two periods with the game tied at 3 until the Bulldogs opened the gates and poured on 3 goals in the third period to beat the Jr. Pack 6-3.

"We have struggled being consistent defensively and it shows in how many goals we have given up. Our D are great one game and poor the next game it is not a lack of know how it is a lack of focus and consistency and that is hard to teach some guys get it and some don't. I know we will turn the corner it is just a matter of when," said Chris Cerrella.

When the Jr. Wolf Pack are playing well and playing consistent the team is 3-0-0-1 and when they struggle the defensively and give up a lot of goals they are 0-4-0-0. After Saturdays nights game Coach Cerrella pulled some necessary punches to hopefully get the team on track and Sunday the team showed a different face.

Down 3-1 with 8 minutes to go in the game the team rallied back to beat the bulldogs 4-3 in a sudden death shoot-out. Jr. Wolf Pack forward Dan Miressi had a great weekend for the team with 4 pts (2 goals, 2 assists) and forward Cameron Chinnery continued to contribute as he leads the team with 9pts in 8 games for the Pack. Defenseman Andrew Moscardelli continued his great play as he added a few assists on the weekend and was tremendous in his own end.

"Right now we have some guys getting it and some guys not getting it. We seemed to spark on Sunday and show some character and grit. We are a different team when we work hard and do all the little things and that's what our coaching staff is trying to get these kids to do all the time. When we do them we are a top team in the league and when we don't we are average. We have kept shuffling the lines and the players to see if we can get something and we seemed that we hit a grove. We didn't take a lot of bad penalties and we pl ayed like a team, it was good to watch," said Asst Coach Brian Wolcott.

The Jr. Wolf Pack will head to Hudson, NH for a league college showcase.
